September 30th, 18 new leaders joined the WMI family as part of SEP18. They’ve already begun forging deep connections, and your encouragement as alumni means so much.
We’re thrilled to announce the newest addition to our WMI family: the Strategic Executives Program (SEP18) cohort – a carefully-curated group of 18 accomplished executives who will be walking a transformational journey together. This is our largest single SEP cohort to date, a reflection of the depth of leadership across our region.
Getting here was no small feat. The finalist’s list was one of the most competitive we’ve seen. After much discernment, we landed on 18 leaders whose voices, experiences, and ambitions complement one another in powerful ways.
We launched SEP18 on September 30, Truth and Reconciliation Day. With sensitivity and intention, we began this journey by listening to Indigenous artists, storytelling, and reflections on how we might all show up meaningfully as allies or learners in reconciliation within our spheres of influence.
Guided by our experienced and caring moderation team Pierre Battah and Heather Howe, SEP’s launch demonstrated that deep listening and challenging assumptions is a powerful part of transformational leadership.
We also want to recognize the outstanding leaders who were finalists but not selected this year. Their talents and potential are undeniable, and we hope to see many of them in a future cohort. The selection process is never about merit alone, it’s about creating a mastermind collective that can challenge and support one another in unique ways.
