Vipin has over 30 years of industry experience in a variety of industries (Telecom, Hi-tech, Gaming, BPO and Software); and in a variety of roles (computer analyst, cost accountant, economic analyst and lawyer). Over the last 20+ years he has specialized in IP law and has held a series of progressively senior positions in Canada and for the last 11 years in India. He has worked at Bell Canada, Nortel Networks, SPEILO Manufacturing, Semiconductor Insights, Wi-LAN, SMART Technologies, GENPACT and Microsoft.
Vipin currently is Principal at VBA Associates, a consultancy firm specializing in IPR matters where he passionately espouses the benefits of generating, utilizing, and respecting IP.
He also gives lectures as a visiting professor at several universities in India. He was the IPR Chair Professor at the IPR Centre for Excellence at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar. Vipin is currently an Adjunct Professor at Vivekananda Law School at Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies in Delhi (VLS). Vipin has a BSc (Honours) in Mathematics/Computer Science; MBA in Finance / International Business; and an L.L.B. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario (LSO), Canada.
