Heather is a 1994 graduate of McGill University’s Bachelor of Science program in Physical Therapy and a registered member of the College of Physiotherapists of New Brunswick. She began her career with WorkSafeNB both as a physiotherapist and case manager. In 2004, Heather decided to make the move to private practice by joining the team at Occupational Concepts Ltd.
Over the next 16 years, Heather held various roles within the company from clinician to Clinic Manager. After participating in WMI’s inaugural Strategic Executives Program, then known as the Second In Command Program, in 2010, Heather then moved into the role of Director of Clinical Services.
In 2014, Occupational Concepts began a 2-year journey to move the company from a successful but informally run company to a growth oriented formal company. Every process within the organization was analyzed and improved using various lean six sigma tools and concepts with Heather leading the change management in her role as Continuous Improvement Leader. After having co-lead 9 projects and individually lead and additional 10, efficiency, productivity and effectiveness doubled the company’s revenues and competitiveness. During this 2-year time period, Heather not only completed her certification as a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma under Master Black Belt, Tim McEwan, she also assumed the role of General Manager overseeing all aspects of running the company.
In 2018, Occupational Concepts was acquired by CBI Health Group. Heather played an integral role in ensuring that the transition between both parties was smooth before being promoted to Regional Manager overseeing the business aspects of client, customer and employee satisfaction in New Brunswick.
In 2020, Heather decided to use the knowledge and skills she’d learned over the years in running and growing a small business into an attractive organization worth being acquired by a large national company. She opened Geo Health Consulting Inc, with the goal of doing it all over again.
